In the early 2000s the Chemical company Basell, announced the closure of their Chemical plant at Wilton, leading to the loss of 160 jobs and a vacant 30 acre site, with approximately 100,000 sq. ft of office and warehouse space standing empty.
Chris acquired the site in 2007, invested over £1 million in its redevelopment and at the same time secured Transport Development Group on a long term lease, which resulted in further investment and the creation of over 100 jobs.
The site was eventually sold to an Investment Fund – this was another example of Job Regeneration as well Physical Regeneration.
